If you didn't know already, I always try to do something special for Christmas on my website. In this blog, I’ll be talking about Christmas film inspiration, sprinkling some festive magic onto my projects, and even imagining how my characters would survive the holiday season. Oh, and stay tuned to the end because, yes, I’ve taken it upon myself to write my very own 12 Days Of Christmas Song! So grab a hot chocolate, put on your fluffiest socks, and enjoy.
This blog is all about the best time of year...CHRISTMAS!! Now, before you skip to the very end for my 12 days of Christmas Song (I see you, you impatient elves), let me tell you about this year’s (2024) original calendar idea. I wanted to go bigger than last year—like, "Rudolph after an energy drink" bigger. I thought "What if I created something amazing, something unimaginable?"
So, naturally, my genius brain said, "A calendar with a new game every day!" Imagine it: one day you’re playing spot the difference, the next a jigsaw puzzle. So, I did my research, gave it a few valiant attempts, and then came to realise that, ironically, my slogan—"There are no limits to creativity!"—really doesn’t apply here. Turns out, when you're a one-person operation juggling this, school, and pretending to have everything under control, there are definitely limits to creativity! Guess I'll just have to add "superpowers" to my Christmas list.
So yeah, I guess the calendar I ended up making, "Search for Santa" made up for that. It’s a fun little game, but honestly, my family? At this rate, they’d need a whole month to spot him! It's like they need a magnifying glass just to find his hat (Sorry, fam—if you're reading this).
Anyway, let's move onto Christmas films. Why? Well, I want to share where I got the inspiration for A Wish To Santa, where Noah and his family are preparing for Christmas, but then start facing some problems that need fixing before the big day. For me, it kind of felt like one of my top favourite Christmas films, Arthur Christmas. Of course, it’s not number 1—that honour goes to Elf (no one does Christmas like Buddy the Elf ).
Now, how would Christmas look like in the Jimbowha Productions universe. Well, I imagine it like this:
From Frods, Sal Treats would probably bake the tastiest Christmas Cake ever that you'd overdose from sugar. Or Frods would probably burn down the Christmas tree whilst putting on a bauble.
From Cora, Pam would insist that Cora gives her a Christmas present, but only so she could dramatically refuse it with a smirk and say, "I don’t believe in gifts."
From Guardian 54 and 56, Chief Syna would order them to go on a mission to save all the turkeys from going out of stock.
From Electronic Exodus, Hudson and Anton would hack into their city’s speakers, playing Christmas music on repeat until the entire neighbourhood was singing "Jingle Bells" against their will.
And now the best part of the blog, The Jimbowha Productions 12 Days of Christmas (feel free to sing along):
